My writing has appeared in Scientific American, Science Magazine, and The Forward. I have a degree in Geology-Biology from Brown University and have since worked at the USGS, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I specialized in instrumentation to measure snow, permafrost and long term weather patterns. Mostly that translates to troubleshooting broken systems, and eating all of the snacks after lugging batteries and towers over miles of tundra.
