Because we don't have Salary Equity, here's some Salary Transparency instead.
Another organization is also hosting salary data for public employees in Alaska. Excitingly, their salary data includes not only the University, but also municipalities, schools, the office of the governor, etc. I will continue hosting University salaries here after receiving feedback that people prefer this format.
I include all of the salary data that I have from the University of Alaska system.
Its an incomplete data set. Please contact me if you have more to add.
How did I get this data?
"Under the Alaska Public Records Act (AS 40.25.110-.220), the State Personnel Act (AS 39.25.080(b) and Regents' Policy (P04.01.062; P06.02.010-.100), certain employee information is public and must be disclosed on request. This information release is on UAF employees, including adjuncts and temps. Student employee information will not be released due to protections under federal law. "
How can you get this data?
Email a public information officer at UAF.
Why did I post this data?
1) Pay transparency allows people to compare their salary with folks in similar roles and use that to help them advocate for their own fair pay or for the fair payment of others.
2) Making public data easily accessible means that anyone can look at the data with new and creative perspectives, and draw their own conclusions.
WARNING!
There are many imperfections to this data. For example, a UAF professor noticed that, "The salaries listed are sometimes for 9 months even though they are 12 month positions and sometimes they are listed for 12 months for 12 month positions. not sure how to solve that issue cause it is "blind" info: ie impossible to track down"
